Ce livre contient 13 essais, réunis par Douglas Brode et Leah Deyneka, qui se focalisent sur les aspects politiques, religieux et sexuels de Star Wars.
Chacun des auteurs des textes propose une critique volontairement provocatrice en abordant divers thèmes tels que le racisme, le judéo-christianisme, les religions orientales, l’homosexualité ou encore les implications philosophiques et politiques avec notre monde, entre autres.
Parfois, on a l’impression que cette ‘provocation’ est purement gratuite comme une comparaison entre les films de George Lucas et les écrits de Freud qui part dans le scabreux.
Mais d’un autre côté, on a quand-même quelques paragraphes intéressants comme celui sur Star Wars et la Guerre Froide de l’époque.
