Point d’accent québécois dans ce coffret, on a affaire à la version française bien de chez nous. Le coffret contenant les vidéos est en anglais alors que les jaquettes des VHS est en français, double culture oblige. Le coffret est en deux parties avec un contenant en carton, qui contient les cassettes, dont les volets dépliants énumèrent les récompenses de chaque film. Le tout s’insère dans une boite également en carton.

Evidemment, le coffret le plus intéressant est celui qui est tout plat car les VHS sont disposées côte à côte, ce qui est assez original. L’autre coffret est classique dans sa conception et en plus le format de l’image est en « fullscreen » (plein écran), ce qui n’est pas top.

Nous avons droit à deux éditions limitées. Pour l’un, c’est Vador qui prédomine, pour l’autre, c’est un Stormtrooper. Sinon, les VHS sont exactement les mêmes dont le visuel se différencie de celui des coffrets sortis à la même période (voir ci-dessus) mais qui ne sont pas à tirage limité.

COMMENTAIRES
Pour le coffret avec Vador, la différence par rapport à la version britannique est que Star Wars est écrit en gros caractères rouges. Sinon le coffret avec Yoda en gros plan n’a semblé être édité que là bas, très loin, de l’autre côté du globe. On remarque également que les VHS présentent des visuels différents entre les deux éditions.

Un beau coffret que voilà avec ses 40 000 exemplaires sortis dans le monde. La VHS bonus reprend à peu près les coulisses de l’Edition Spéciale comme celles présentées au début de chaque film des VHS éditées en France. Mais là, on peut tout voir en une fois, et puis ce coffret fait très joli sur une étagère.
Le certificat d’authenticité est de toute beauté avec ce médaillon en métal assez lourd, ça change du papier cartonné habituel.

Le coffret s’ouvre pour laisser apparaître un paysage de Theed. Il contient donc un condensé du « Art of Star Wars Episode I » mais ce coffret vaut peut-être le coup pour ceux qui sont toujours à la recherche d’images d’archives inédites avec le documentaire exclusif.
